Josiane Ethier, graduate of the École de cirque de Québec 2019

My name is Josiane Ethier and I did my first front roll at 20 years old.

Before, I had a fairly simple life: work from 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, had an appartment, studies in special education completed and a good pay per week.

But one day I asked to myself, "Really ?! " No!

The dream life, for me, had to be intense, formative and full of travels. So I gave up my little comfort, I started to run every morning and i started to do push up, a lot of push up.

I just finished the circus arts program, 5 ½ years later. I am proud of the atypical path that has brought me here. It took me 3 years of perseverance and determination to be accepted in this program, I went through three years of auditions, evening preparatory courses, training in recreational and one year to the professional dance program at the dance school of Quebec.

I practice trapeze, aerial hoop, straps, bungee and Chinese pole. These disciplines allowed me to discover myself as a person and as an artist.

I don't regret my decision to have, despite the fear that inhabited me, jumped into the void for the first time 5 ½ years ago. I hope it will not be the last time. I like challenges and new adventures.
